WYTHEVILLE SEEKS WATER, SEWER FUNDS

Wytheville Town Council is seeking funding to provide town water and sewers to the Petunia community as well as rehabilitating more than 30 homes in the area.

It is seeking a $1.2 million Community Development Block Grant, $15,000 from Virginia Water Projects grant funds and $617,000 in low-interest Farmers Home Administration loans.

At its meeting last week, council also approved $8,000 toward an estimated $12,000 to $15,000 worth of crash-truck equipment being sought by the Wythe County Rescue Squad.
