Elbert (Buz) Howard Foster, age 74, of Route 1, Vinton died Wednesday morning at the home of his sister, Marion F. Brooks of Roanoke. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway East End Shops. Surviving are his wife, Geniece Atkinson Foster; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy L. Foster of Alexandria; Robey E. and JoAnn Foster of Roanoke; a granddaughter, Lauren E. Foster of Castro Valley, Calif.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Evelyn and William Southers, Alma Foster, Cora Lee and Stafford Bray, all of Powhatan; Marion and Robert Brooks of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 1992 with Rev. William Mitchell and Rev. Elmer Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Stewartsville/Chamblissburg Rescue Squad. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
