Subaru of America is recalling 147,000 front-wheel-drive cars that might be dangerously corroded by road salt. The cars affected include three- and four-door and coupe models made from 1985-1987. Continuous exposure to road salt could cause rear suspension damage. There have been no reported accidents or injuries.

Alan Greenspan was sworn to a second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board on Friday, his 66th birthday. Greenspan was reappointed by President Bush on July 10 and confirmed by the Senate on a voice vote late last month.
