FERRUM WINS 10-2, RUNS RECORD TO 7-0

Geremy Hill had four hits and four runs batted in to lead Ferrum to a 10-2 college baseball victory over Rutgers-Newark on Saturday.

Hill, the Panthers' right fielder, had a two-run single in a five-run third inning that broke open the game. His hitting backed up the complete-game pitching of Kevin Alger (2-0), who allowed six hits, one walk and struck out eight.

The Panthers, ranked second in Division III, are 7-0. Rutgers-Newark was playing its first game. Staff report
