Curtis Virel Huffman, age 78, of Vinton, died Monday, March 9, 1992. He was a member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church and a retired employee of Atlantic Greyhound with 32 years of service. He was the organizer of the Greyhound Retirees Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myrtle L. Huffman; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue H. and James E. Butler, Portsmouth, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, G. Ray and Judy Huffman, Coral Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren, Melissa B. Graves, Kodiak, Alaska; Jamie L. Butler, Richmond; G. Scott Huffman and Cindy H. Anderson, Coral Springs, Fla.; one great-grandson, Taylor Anderson; a sister, Marie Martin, Roanoke; two brothers, G. Russell Huffman, Roanoke; and L. Waymouth Huffman, Hopewell, Va.; and a number of special friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 1992 with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Wayne of Lynn Haven Baptist Church and Rev. Don McCafkell of Garden City Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lynn Haven Baptist Church, or to the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
