OBIT ALLEN, E.

Mrs. Ethel Newberry Allen, age 95, died Monday, March 9, 1992 at her home. She was the daughter of the late L.M. and Louise Bird Newberry. She was born in Bland County, March 7, 1897, and was the widow of George A. Allen, Sr. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, Donald B. Allen of The Plains, Va.; George A. Allen, Jr., Blacksburg; Edwin B. Allen, Fairfax; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Blacksburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Minnick officiating. Interment will be in the Bland Cemetery, Bland, Virginia at 2:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials be made to the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 931, Blacksburg, Va. 24063 or to the Bland United Methodist Church, Bland, Va. 24315. The family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home from 7:00 till 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
