Foussekis has stayed at a Blacksburg hotel for several days, trying to decide between continuing his coaching career at his alma mater or going into a private business venture with members of his family. He said Monday that he has not decided but wants to give Beamer an answer this morning.
"I've been fighting this thing," said Foussekis, a longtime Maryland assistant coach until after last season. "I feel like I really want to do this [coach at Virginia Tech]. I've been fighting it for a few days. I've got some things that are important to me, family and that."
Beamer fired two assistants in February. Foussekis would join veteran Terry Strock as new staff members. - SCOTT BLANCHARD
