Home Shopping Network Inc., the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based television retailer operating its order-filling warehouse in Salem, on Thursday reported sales for its second quarter ended Feb. 29 rose 2.9 percent to $275.5 million from $267.7 million in the same period a year earlier.
The company said its gross profit margin was 36.7 percent compared with 35.2 percent last year. Earnings reached $7.9 million, or 9 cents per share, compared to a loss of $24.6 million or 28 cents per share, a year earlier.
