Anson Richard Fowler, age 82, of 814 Pinecrest Ave., died suddenly Thursday, March 12, 1992. He was born in Horry County, S.C.; a son of the Ransom Fowler and Lonie Cartrette Fowler. He was a member of Main Stree United Methodist Church and was retired from Mesta Machine Co. in Pittsburg, PA. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Elizabeth Zeller Fowler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Beatrice C. Fowler; Norman R. and Virginia D. Fowler, all of Bedford; a brother, Daniel Fowler, Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Bradley and Cheryl Fowler, Richmond; Todd and Kim Fowler; Craig Fowler; Brenda and Kevin Patterson, all of Bedford; Daniel Fowler, Hampton. Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, March 15, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Main Street United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Bedford Life Saving Crew.
