FBI AGENT FROM VA. KILLED IN MISSOURI

FBI agents were pulled off nearly all area assignments Friday to search for two suspected killers of a veteran agent from Virginia who was gunned down in an apparent "robbery gone bad."

More than 100 agents were working 12-hour shifts to investigate Wednesday night's killing of Special Agent Stanley C. Ronquest Jr., a 21-year FBI veteran from Stafford, Va.

The killing apparently was a result of a random street robbery and not related to Ronquest's job, said James Esposito, special agent in charge of the Kansas City office.

Ronquest, 52, was in Kansas City on temporary assignment since the beginning of the week and had been scheduled to return to Washington on Friday.
