NEW RIVER SPEEDWAY SETS PRACTICE DATES

Two practice dates for the New River Valley Speedway, formerly Pulaski County Speedway, have been set by promoter Clay Campbell.

The first practice will be from 1-6 p.m., Sunday, April 5. A second session is scheduled Thursday, April 9, beginning at 4 p.m.

It will be the first time cars will be allowed on the track, which has been resurfaced in the turns.

The racing season opens April 11. Gates open at 3 p.m., with the green flag falling at 8 p.m., a half-hour later than last year. Events will be staged each Saturday night through Sept. 5.

Campbell said the third annual Granger Select Busch Grand National race will be held on May 2. - Staff report
