PRISON OFFICIALS UNVEIL CONSTRUCTION PLANS

The Virginia Department of Corrections will build a 516-cell, maximum-security prison near Pound in Wise County, an official with the department said Tuesday.

In addition to the $56 million Wise County prison, officials announced plans for a $26.5 million medium-security prison planned for Lunenburg County.

The Wise County site would probably employ about 290 workers. - Associated Press
