HIGHLANDERS DEFEAT VMI 5-2 IN BASEBALL

Second baseman Rob Amos knocked in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning Thursday as Radford defeated VMI 5-2 in college baseball.

The Highlanders (12-9) scored twice in the fourth inning and got two more runs in the fifth in winning their second straight game.

VMI (6-22) got a two-run home run from Warren Williams, who went 3-for-4. John Payne had two hits for the Keydets.

Denny Van Pelt and Phillip Haney had two hits each for Radford. - Staff
