EIDE LEADS KNIGHTS BY MOUNTAINEERS

Tom Eide had three goals and one assist in leading James River over Alleghany 6-1 in the Knights season-opening soccer game at Buchanan.

One of Eide's goals was on a penalty kick. Chris Cook added two goals, Isaac Minnis had James River's other goal and Chris Williams had two assists. Alleghany's goal was scored by Chris Mulligan on a penalty kick.

\ GIRLS' SOCCER: At North Cross, Emily Cook scored three goals to lead the Raiders past Magna Vista, 6-0, in their season opener. Magna Vista dropped to 0-2.
