BROWN SUPPORTERS WILL HOLD 2 RALLIES IN WESTERN VA.

Supporters of former California Gov. Jerry Brown will hold two rallies in Western Virginia this week to drum up backing for his presidential bid - although Brown himself won't attend.

The first rally is Thursday at 7 p.m. at Addison Middle School in Roanoke. The second is Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Franklin County Court House in Rocky Mount.

Brown is scheduled to make an appearance in Roanoke sometime before Virginia's presidential caucuses on April 11 and 13, although the date now is in question, said Ed Lyons, Brown's local coordinator.

Brown's visit - previously set for April 8 - will be either April 7, 8 or 9, Lyons said.
