YOUNGSTERS LIKE DISNEY FOR THE MAGIC

I THINK Monty Leitch's Feb. 8 column, "Cartoons are cruel with subtle signals," was outrageous. If you must put something down, put pornography or "Ren and Stimpy" down.

I am 17 and have been going to see Walt Disney movies since I was 3 years old. The only one I missed was "Oliver and Company." I can honestly say that I do notice how pretty their faces are and how beautiful are their dresses, but I have never noticed how tiny is someone's waist or how big someone's bust. Children don't care about their bodies. They go to see the wonderful magic that is in every Disney movie. The animation is awesome and the music is original.

You can't experience the feeling you get from watching a Disney movie from anything else. If you can't handle Disney movies, what do you do for entertainment? HEATHER WADKINS ROCKY MOUNT
