THERE SHOULD BE MORE OF `THESE'
I HAVE real problems with the Feb. 3 letter to the editor by Anthony Mabe, "Look who's committing crimes." I've read it over and over, and obviously I'm missing one point.I'm sure we all agree that people who commit crimes such as drug-dealing, rape, robbery, etc., are not law-abiding citizens. What I can't seem to figure out is who are "these" people Mabe is referring to. He says that "these" people and Gov. Wilder will cry racism if he speaks out publicly. Are "these" people African-Americans?
Wake up, Mabe! People who commit crimes are just as diverse as our society. Unfortunately, there are so many like you who try to place all the ills of our society on one group of people. Well, in your eyes I'm probably one of "those," yet I'm willing to work together with "you" people or anyone else to find a solution. Are you? STACIE HOWARD ROANOKE
