OBIT JOHNSON, LAWRENCE ALLEN

JOHNSON, Lawrence Allen, 79, of Huddleston, passed away Sunday, February 28, 1993 in the Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born September 22, 1913 in Bedford County, a son of the late Luster Johnson and Hortense English Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Artie Lee Johnson Johnson; and a brother, Garvis Johnson. He is survived by a sister, Mary J. Franklin, Huddleston; a brother, W. Guy Johnson, Roanoke; a niece, Mimie Harris, Huddleston. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 2, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston, by the Rev. A. A. Blanks. Interment will follow in the Staunton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston, and request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew.
