OBIT AKERS, COLONEL RANDOLPH "PETE"
AKERS, Colonel Randolph, ("Pete"), 63, of Dublin, passed away Saturday,
February 27, 1993. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired
painter and construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Anne
Akers of Dublin; three sons, Brad Akers of Radford, Steady Akers of
Bennettsville, S. C., and Randy Akers of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Mrs.
Patty VanNostrand of Va. Beach; his mother, Annie R. Akers of Radford; two
sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ritter and Mrs. Helen Stump, both of Radford; six
stepchildren, 11 grandchildren, and eight stepgrandchildren. Funeral services
will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home
in Radford with the Rev. Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in
Rockford Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 7
until 9 p.m. Monday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
