MARTINSVILLE TRACK EXPANDS
A 3,000-seat expansion of the Winston Tower will be completed in time for the April 25 running of the Hanes 500 Winston Cup race at Martinsville Speedway, track officials said Monday.
The Winston Tower had been 25 rows high. When completed it will be 41 rows. Tickets for the new seats go on sale Wednesday at 9 a.m. Additional information can be obtained by calling the ticket office at (703) 956-3151.
There will be an open practice session March 7 for NASCAR's Late Model Stock cars at Martinsville Speedway. The session is scheduled from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to help teams prepare for the 1993 opening race on March 21. The Miller Genuine Draft 500 will feature a 200-lap Late Model Stock race and a 300-lap Busch Grand National race.
