OBIT STANLEY, HERMAN F. SR.
STANLEY, Herman F. Sr., 74, of Roanoke, died Sunday, February 28, 1993 at
the V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was born February 7, 1919, the son of the
late Robert F. Stanley and Rosa Martin Stanley of Stuart. Mr. Stanley was a
member of the Villamont Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Greyhound bus
driver and served in World War II four years, two years of which was in the
European Theater. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Corn Stanley; daughter and
son-in-law, Germaine Stanley McClure and Charles McClure, Decatur, Ill.; two
sons, H. Frank Stanley Jr., and wife, Sharon Reid Stanley, Drapers Valley,
Roland D. Stanley, Roanoke; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister,
Ruby Warren, Danville. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1:30
p.m. Wednesday with Chaplain Quentin J. White officiating. Interment with
military honors will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends desiring
to do so may send memorials to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad, 3206 Valley Forge
Ave., Roanoke, VA 24018. His wife and family would like to thank all at the
V.A. Medical Center for their outstanding service. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
