OBIT WEILAND, MARSHALL
WEILAND, Marshall, of Roanoke, died February 28, 1993 in Camelot Hall
Nursing Home, Lynchburg. Born March 19, 1900, he was a son of the late Philip
J. and Mattie Camper Weiland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy
Cooper Weiland. He is survived by a daughter, Norma Weiland Scanlan, Naples,
Fla., 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a
brother, Philip J. Weiland Jr., Lynchburg and a sister, Hilda W. Guest,
Lakeland, Fla. He worked for many years at State Office Supply Co. in Roanoke
as an office machine mechanic. He was a loyal member of Roanoke Elks Lodge
#197 and was a member of United Commercial Travelers Association for over 70
years. Funeral services will be held at Lotz Roanoke Chapel on Thursday at 3
p.m. with Rev. Robert Lanier officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn
Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel from 2
p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be given to Elks Youth Camp
Trust Fund, 1147 Persinger Rd. S.W., Roanoke, VA 24015.
