OBIT NESTER, SHIRLEY E. NESTER

NESTER, Shirley E. Nester, 81, of Hillsville, passed Monday, March 1, 1993 at Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was born November 27, 1911 at Carroll County, Va., a son of the late Walker Nester and Cleora Newman Nester. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Grover King Post #1115 in Hillsville. He is survived by his wife, Carlyn Dell Nester; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Eugene and Kathryn Nester, Goodview; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Reva Nester, Collands, Va.; two brothers, Clarence L. Nester, Eckman, W.Va., Melvin Nester, Norfolk; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. March 3, 1993 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Elmon Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
