OBIT SPARKS, WILLIE L., ("GRANNY")

SPARKS, Willie L., ("Granny"), 89, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, March 3, 1993. She attended Brentwood Baptist Church and was the widow of Robert Homer Sparks. She is survived by one son, Thomas Robert Sparks Sr.; one daughter, Laura S. Smith, both of Roanoke; five grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside, Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 5, with the Rev. Jesse H. Powell officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
