ACCORDING TO THE BOOK

The 1993 version of the Guinness Book of Records is out - including official verification of Radford's own Margaret Skeete, listed as the oldest living person in the United States.

Skeete was born in Rockport, Texas, on Oct. 27, 1878. Other new fascinating facts include:

\ And you thought the Stairmaster was bad - Brian McCauliff ran a vertical mile (ascending and descending eight times) on the stairs of the Detroit Westin Hotel in one hour, 38 minutes last February.

\ Spring in the South? - Twelve students at Prince William Sound Community College in Arkansas made a 76-foot-tall snowman last April.

\ No one bungee-jumped - A crane in the North Sea just off of Aberdeen, Scotland, lifted the greatest single crane load last year, more than 10,750 tons.

\ Please pass the Grey Poupon - A parade of 114 Rolls Royces drove along the Tolo Harbor Highway, Hong Kong, in September 1991, registered a length of 1 mile, 22 yards.

\ Even Clinton would be jealous - Dhirendra Tomar of Bhopal, India, shook hands with 23,040 people in eight hours during a holy festival last May.
