NORTH CROSS ADVANCES WITH 79-63 VICTORY
Mike Bryan scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as North Cross rolled past Trinity Episcopal 79-63 in the semifinals of the Virginia Independent School boys' basketball tournament Friday night.The Raiders (25-6) led 38-27 at halftime, but Trinity Episcopal cut the lead to two, 59-57, early in the fourth quarter. North Cross went on a 12-0 run to capture the win.
Hal Johnson paced the Raiders with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Marcus Caldwell scored 14 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and had eight assists.
Jason Whittofft scored 15 points, and Mark Whiteneff and Knox Milligan scored 14 apiece to lead Trinity Episcopal.
In the other semifinal game, St. Stephen's defeated Bishop O'Connell 59-48. North Cross will face St. Stephen's in the championship game today at 5 p.m.
