OBIT BORLAND, DR. LEONARD CLIFFORD JR.

BORLAND, Dr. Leonard Clifford Jr., 84, of Roanoke County, died suddenly Wednesday, March 3, 1993. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Roanoke Men's Garden Club. He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University, Loyola Medical School in Chicago, and was a retired dental surgeon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Danese Fitzgerald Borland. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Orwig Borland; brother-in-law, Beverly Fitzgerald; a number of nieces and nephews including Clyde Cocke, Raymond Fitzgerald, Manette S. Newcomb, Sue C. Thrasher, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10:30 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Bob Smith. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
