OBIT COUNTISS, MAVIS ELLENBURG
COUNTISS, Mavis Ellenburg, 76, of 1815 Arlington Rd., S. W., Roanoke, died Friday, March 5, 1993, in Roanoke Community Hospital. She lived in Bristol most of her life before moving to the Roanoke area. She was a former employee of the city of Bristol, Tenn. Water Department and was a member of Rosemont Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Countiss Allmon and Mrs. Leslie Countiss Foster, both of Roanoke, Va.; one grandson, Shannon Allmon of Roanoke, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Helen of Knoxville, Tenn.; four brothers, Eldon Ellenburg and Glenn (Happy) Ellenburg, both of Knoxville, Tenn., Maynard Ellenburg of Charlotte, N. C., and Robert Ellenburg of Birmingham, Ala. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Weaver Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Weaver Funeral Home in Bristol, Tenn. is in charge.
