SATAN CAN'T MAKE GOD'S NAME VANISH
Since it all began, I have read many articles and heard several arguments, both pro and con, on naming school holidays. It is so very sad to know that we live in a community where there are those who wish to take God out of everything. Some have stated they do not understand why the issue just isn't left alone. Still yet, others say naming Easter and Christmas as the school's breaks is infringing upon their rights. Some have agreed that this is just one more step toward removing God from everything, publicly. Jesus Christ said that if we are ashamed of him before men, he will not recognize us before his father who is in heaven.
No, the school system is not the place to teach Christianity. It is the job of ministers, Sunday School teachers and parents. There are too many different religions and beliefs for the school to be the proper place for teaching Christianity. However, God and anything that reflects his name should be allowed publicly.
Finally, for those who want to silence or stamp out his name, Satan thought he had won on that first Easter. But Satan wasn't able then nor will he be victorious now in stamping out the name of God.\ Joyce Greer\ Christiansburg
