TRAFFIC STOPS REVIEWED AFTER TROOPER'S KILLING
The death of a Virginia state trooper during a traffic stop has initiated a review of police procedures.Local and state police departments say they are considering requiring officers to call in the location and the license plate number of each vehicle they stop.
Trooper Jose M. Cavazos was shot to death Feb. 24 just off Interstate 95 in Dale City after ordering two men out of a car he had pulled over for speeding. The men were arrested later the same day at a hotel and charged with capital murder.
Cavazos had not called dispatchers with his location or the license plate numbers of the car he pulled over. - Associated Press
