OBIT COOK, MRS. LYDIA FINNEY
COOK, Mrs. Lydia Finney, 92, of R-4, Sparta, N.C., died Saturday morning,
March 6, 1993 at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She was the widow
of Carl Cook. She is survived by one son, Tom Cook of Sparta; two daughters,
Mrs. Edna Cummings of Sparta, and Mrs. Ruth Holland of North Wilkesboro, N.C.;
one brother, George Finney of Sparta; three sisters, Mrs. Emolene McKnight of
Independence, Va., Mrs. Guyda Wagoner of Bel Air, Md., and Mrs. Ada Crouse of
Bakersfield, Calif.; thirteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning
at 11 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel in Sparta with burial in the
Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. The family may be contacted at
the home of Edna Cummings, 405 Lucas St., Sparta, N.C.
