OBIT MITCHELL, ROBERT GORDON

MITCHELL, Robert Gordon, 78, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993 in the Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was born July 25, 1914 in Franklin County, the son of the late James Davis and Lois Cundiff Mitchell and was a member of the Cool Springs Christian Church serving as deacon for 45 years. Surviving is his wife, Lottie Adkins Mitchell of the home; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Annie M. Reynolds of Glade Hill; Gelene M. Hudson of Rocky Mount, Grace M. Bowles of Roanoke, Catherine and James Bowles of Martinsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Samuel Davis and Margaret Mitchell of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 1993 from Lynch Chapel by Revs. Brian Vaughan and Glen Voss with interment to follow in the Franklin Memorial Park. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Thursday at Lynch Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
