OBIT DIXON, ALICE GLASS

DIXON, Alice Glass, 87, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Buena Vista on January 5, 1906, the daughter of the late Thomas Hartwell Glass Sr. and Lelia Price Glass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Reid Dixon. Mrs. Dixon was a teacher in the Buena Vista Public Schools and a member of the Rockbridge County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church and she served as a Pink Lady volunteer at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Mrs. Dixon is survived by three daughters, Betty D. Glenn, Rockingham, N.C., Nancy D. Marrin, Manassas, and Barbara D. Dixon, Lexington; one sister, Kathleen G. Timberlake, Lexington; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, 1993 at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marc Sherrod officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lomax Funeral Home.
