FROM SOUPS TO SALSA, PRODUCTS MADE IN VIRGINIA SHOWCASED
WSLS-TV 10 is getting into the spirit of the American Women's Show with its on-air personalities, special features about women on the news broadcasts and its Spirit of Virginia section. The section will feature food products made in Virginia, and there will be plenty available for trying and buying. Virginia is developing a reputation for its wines. Two of those wineries, Chateau Morrisett of Meadows of Dan and Stonewall Vineyards of Concord, will offer tastings and wines for sale.
Traditional favorites can be found in Byrd Mill Company's mixes, batters and meals, and in Fearnow Brothers' famous Brunswick stews.
Spicing things up will be Jarrett's Country Herbs - a favorite with Roanoke City Market shoppers - with their herbs and vinegars. A south-of-the-border flavor comes from Koli's Mexibilly Salsa, made in Pulaski, while Pasta lovers will enjoy sampling the wares of Charlottesville's Pasta Valente, Inc. Pasta Valente also will be featured on the cooking stage.
Purely American offers an all-American variety of sauces and peanuts and more. Those with a sweet tooth and an eye for the unusual will not want to miss Hatcher Candy's baskets and carousels - made entirely of candy.
