ORCHID WORKSHOPS PLANNED MARCH 20
The Flower Shoppe Inc., in conjunction with the Dowery Orchid Nursery, will offer two free orchid workshops March 20.
The hands-on clinics will be in greenhouse No. 3 at the Flower Shoppe at the corner of Northwood Drive and U.S. 11 in Pulaski.
The morning workshop is for beginners and runs 10 a.m.-noon.
Topics include identification, potting methods, simple propagation and general care.
A clinic for the more experienced enthusiast will be held 1:30-4 p.m.
The specific culture for a variety of species and hybrids will be discussed, along with the processes of pollination, flasking of seeds, potting culture for seedlings and bringing plants into show-quality bloom.
