FARM BUREAU NOTES NEXT AGRICULTURE WEEK
The Montgomery County Farm Bureau recently announced it will observe Agriculture Week next week."I bring this to the attention of our community because many times we take agriculture for granted," said Arnold A. Lafon, president of the bureau. "America has the most efficient and productive agricultural system in the world. One American farmer feeds 128 people. Our food is the safest, most affordable on Earth."
According to a news release, agriculture is Virginia's largest industry, and Montgomery County's economy is dependent upon such agricultural commodities as hay, grains, beef cattle and dairy.
