OBIT-BEAM, WILLIAM GLENN
BEAM, William Glenn, of Roanoke, died Thursday, March 11, 1993, at
Lewis-Gale Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Beam was born in
Cherryville, N.C., a son of the late D. B. Beam and Bryte Saine Beam. Mr. Beam
was graduated from the School of Pharmacy, Chapel Hill, N.C., with a BS
Degree. He also held a PhD. He was a member of the Kappa Psi Fraternity and
the Pharmaceutical Senate of the University of North Carolina. Mr. Beam was a
member of the Cave Spring United Methodist Church. He was also a member of
Cave Spring Lodge #230 AF & AM and the Kazim Temple of Shrine. He is survived
by his wife, Helen Moore Beam; a brother, Cline Beam, Cherryville, N.C.; a
sister, Ruth Beam Stroup, Cherryville, N.C.; a niece, Celeste Beam Weaver,
Gastonia, N.C.; three nephews, Kenneth Stroup, Morristown, N.J., Benjamin
Stroup, Auburn, Ala., Randolph Moore Masline, Augusta, Ga.; a brother-in-law,
William N. Hildebrandt, Augusta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor Moore,
Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be from Oakey's South Chapel at 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 13, 1993. The Rev. William Logan will officiate. Interment
will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Masonic Rites will be by the Cave
Spring Lodge #230 AF & AM. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South
Chapel Friday, March 12, 1993, from the hours of 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorials
may be made to the building fund of Cave Spring United Methodist Church or to
a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
