OBIT-JONES, VACIE COOK

JONES, Vacie Cook, 86, of Roanoke died Wednesday, March, 10, 1993. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl W. Jones, and she was a member of the First Church of God, Roanoke. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl L. and Fairy Jones, Duane E. and Jan Jones, all of Phoenix Ariz.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and W. L. Deck, Sonia and Charles E. Knapp, all of Roanoke; a special niece, Joetta Carr, Roanoke; and foster daughter, Mrs. Richard (Louise) Marshall, Rocky Mount; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, with the Rev. James Milner and the Rev. Dave Fraser officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon's International for the placement of memorial bibles. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
