SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES SOUGHT
The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors is seeking candidates for two School Board seats. The current occupants' terms expire June 30.Candidates are sought for the District E seat on the board, held by Lou Herrmann, and the Christiansburg seat, occupied by David Moore.
Herrmann said Wednesday that she hasn't decided whether she will seek another term on the board.
"I really haven't given it any firm thought," said Herrmann, who was named to the board in December 1989 to fill the unexpired term of Karen Trear.
Moore said he will ask the board to reappoint him to a full four-year term.
Moore was appointed to the board last month to fill the unexpired term of former board member Daniel Schneck, who resigned in December.
Anyone interested in serving on the Montgomery County School Board should send a letter of intent and a resume, listing his or her qualifications, to County Administrator Betty Thomas, P.O. Box 806 Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
The deadline for applications is April 16, and the supervisors will publicly interview applicants on May 3.
