SNOWFALL HALTS SCHEDULE
A round of high school basketball postponements followed in the wake of predictions of massive snowfall Friday, many of them coming before the first flake fell.
William Fleming's Group AAA basketball quarterfinal matchup with Hayfield at James Robinson High in Fairfax was postponed until 6 p.m. Monday.
At Bassett High, the Group AA quarterfinal game between Laurel Park and Virginia High was postponed until 7:30 p.m. Monday. Today's match between Martinsville and Gate City has been postponed until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
As for the Group A quarterfinals at Marion High, officials at Floyd County, Covington, Hurley, and Twin Springs were scheduled to confer with Marion athletic director Larry Sayers this morning.
