RADFORD EARNS SHOT AT REPEAT
Three-time defending champion Radford survived a rally by Liberty and won the Big South Conference semifinal 70-62 Friday and advanced to the championship game for the seventh straight year.The Highlanders (16-11) led 39-18 just before halftime, but the Flames (16-12) went on a 29-9 run to start the second period and took a 49-48 lead. Radford clinched it with a 22-11 run over the final seven minutes.
Radford will face UNC Greensboro in the championship game at 7:30 tonight at the Dedmon Center. The top-seeded Spartans ousted Towson State 81-69.
Samantha Gilbert led Radford with 16 points, and Tammie Crown added 13.
Liberty got 13 points from Tacha Woods.

\ UNC Greensboro 81, Towson State 69: At Radford, junior center Vickie Henson had 36 points and 11 rebounds as the top-seeded Spartans, coached by Roanoke's Lynne Agee, overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to defeat the Tigers. Senior Micky Haywood added 14 points and freshman Julie Moore 10 for UNC Greensboro, which trailed 43-28 at halftime. The Tigers were paced by Shannon Ward's 21 points and six rebounds.
