OBIT THOMAS, ALBERT ARTEMAS

THOMAS, Albert Artemas, 74, of Rt. 1, Narrows, died Saturday, March 13, 1993 in the Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, W.Va. He was born at Willowton, W.Va. on September 24, 1918 and was the son of the late Ernest Maston and Minnie Edith Fluvanna Bailey Thomas. He was a retired foreman for the Hoechst/Celanese Fibers Company Plant at Narrows, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Glen Lyn Church of Christ at Glen Lyn, Va., and a member and Past Master of John Dove Lodge #78 A.F.& A.M. of Peterstown, W.Va. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Maston Thomas and James Elmer Thomas and a sister, Nellie Gray Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Mae Davis Thomas, Narrows; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jeff Meadows, Peterstown, W.Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Katie Thomas, Narrows; two grandchildren, Jessica and Cody Meadows, Peterstown, W.Va. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Glen Lyn Church of Christ, Glen Lyn, Va., with Mike Lynn, Minister and Rev. Gene Harman, and Danny Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will meet their friends at Riffe's Funeral Home Service in Narrows, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
