OBIT SINGLETON, JOHN RICHARD
SINGLETON, John Richard, ("Dick"), 66, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday
evening March, 13, 1993 in the Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was born
September 6, 1926 in Lynchburg, Va., the son of the late John R. and Jane
Wright Singleton and was married to the former Jeanette Crickenburg who
survives. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a member of the
Rocky Mount United Methodist Church and a retired Virginia State Trooper with
thirty three years service. Surviving in addition to his wife, is one
daughter, Debra Singleton Pritchard of Rocky Mount; two sons, John R. (Johnny)
Singleton Jr. and Mark Daniel Singleton, both of Rocky Mount, Va.; also
surviving are four sisters, Mary Parrish and Peggy Peters, both of Isle of
Palms, S.C., Sarah Evers and Shirley Dalton, both of Lynchburg, Va.; six
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 17,
1993 from Lynch Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Floyd Wingfield and Rev. William
Dawson. Interment to follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
