OBIT HARRIS, RUSSELL RUCKER

HARRIS, Russell Rucker, 88, of Meadows of Dan, passed away Sunday, March 14, 1993, at his home. He was married 70 years ago on December 6, 1922 and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Lola Underwood Harris, Meadows of Dan; one sister, Nannie Boyd, Eden, N.C.; five nephews, Edgar Belcher, Meadows of Dan, Arlie Belcher, Walter Belcher, Joe Belcher, Waitman Belcher, all of Floyd; three nieces, Myrtle Belcher, Patrick Springs, Beatrice Creedle, Blue Ridge, Ruth Dillon, Vinton. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Clyde Earles and the Rev. Brian Childress officiating. Burial will be in Slate Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
