OBIT MCALLISTER, MARY CATHERINE CRANDALL LOCKETT,
McALLISTER, Mary Catherine Crandall Lockett, 69, of Raleigh, N.C., died
Sunday, February 21, 1993. She was a retired teacher of music and art, active
in the Fireside Book Club and was the North Carolina Mother of the Year in
1973. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flora Smith and James Preston
Lockett; her husband, Quentin McAllister; and a brother, R. S. Lockett, Sr.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, John Miller and Margaret McAllister,
Roxboro, N.C.; James Preston and Pamela Patterson McAllister, Charlotte, N.C.;
daughter and son-in-law, Cranine Kette and John Robert Brinkhous, Chapel Hill,
N.C.; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild. A memorial service was held
at 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 1993, at the West Raleigh Presbyterian Church,
Raleigh, N.C., with the Rev. Robert Ward officiating.
