OBIT KITTS, BILLIE MARIE WOOD
KITTS, Billie Marie Wood, 83, of Princeton, W.Va., died Sunday, March 14,
1993 in a Bluefield nursing home. She resided at 208 Kec Street in Princeton.
She was born in Montgomery County, Va., the daughter of the late John Earl and
Alpha Jane Howard Wood. She was a graduate of Elkhorn - Northfork High School
in McDowell County. She was a retired employee for the Leggetts Department
Stores of both Bluefield and Princeton. She was a member of the Johnston
Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road in Princeton. She moved to
Princeton in 1928 coming from Powhatan. She was preceded in death by two
brothers, John S. Wood and Aubrey Wood, along with two sisters, Hazel Bolen
and Madeline James. Surviving are one son, Shelby Kitts, Princeton; one
brother, Grant Wood, Princeton. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday
from Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road
in Princeton with Reverend John King and Reverend Jim Nofsinger officiating.
Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in
Princeton. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the
funeral home.
