TECH MEN SCORE UPSET IN TENNIS
Virginia Tech's men's tennis team, which never had beaten a nationally ranked team, did Wednesday in Blacksburg.The Hokies, 63-7 over the past three years, defeated 24th-ranked Texas A&M 5-2 to extend their record this season to 8-1.
Tech won five of six singles matches, including Marcus Kramer's 6-4, 6-4 win over Berney Martinez. Kramer, Tech's No. 3 player, is ranked 25th nationally in the latest rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Ognjen Pavlovic, ranked 68th nationally, defeated Texas A&M's No. 1, Mark Weaver, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Weaver is ranked 40th in the nation.
