OBIT MARTIN, JOE A.

MARTIN, Joe A., 85, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, March 12, 1993. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys R. Martin. He along with others opened the Information Service Station in the late 1940's. There Joe served many motorists for many years until recently when his health failed him. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita T. Wade, Yvonne M. Robinson, both of Roanoke; one sister, Magalina Clark, Norfolk, Va.; one brother, Clarence Martin, Glasgow, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Matilda Martin, Glasgow, and Bettye Martin, New Rochelle, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 7:30 p.m. in the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Elder J. C. Hardy officiating. Interment will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in the family cemetery in Ridgeway. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to services at the funeral home.
