RELIGION BRIEF

ROANOKE VALLEY NAZARENE CHURCHES, will hold a greater Roanoke Valley indoor camp meeting March 31 through April 4 at Roanoke First Church of the Nazarene, 728 Highland Ave. S.E.

The meeting will be led by the Rev. Lane Loman, evangelist, and Roger Brown, music evangelist. Services begin Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.

\ BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH will hold a revival Sunday through March 25 at 7 p.m., 1601 Colorado St., Salem. The revival will be led by the Rev. Dale Riddle, evangelist, and the Rev. Steve Byers, minister of music.

A nursery will be provided.

\ WAYNE WEIBLE, author of the newspaper Miracle at Medjugorje, which chronicled the appearances of apparitions that have taken place for 10 years in a mountain village in central Yugoslavia, will speak Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Saint Andrews Catholic Church.

Weible also is author of Christian best-sellers "Medjugorje the Message" and "Letters from Medjugorje."

\ FRIEND DAY will be observed March 28 at Valley View Wesleyan Church, 2302 Oakland Blvd. N.W. The children and puppet ministry will present their Easter program at 6 p.m.

The adult choir will present their Easter Cantata, "Christ Has Risen, Alleluia," on April 9 at 6 p.m.

\ PILGRIM BAPTIST CHURCH, 1415 Eighth St. N.W., will be celebrating its 19th pre-anniversary on March 21 at 4 p.m. in their new sanctuary with the John Hubbard Memorial Ensemble, the Rev. Corwin Kasey, and the church choir.

\ THE MALE CHORUS OF GREATER MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH will celebrate its 13th anniversary March 28 at 4 p.m., 1810 Grayson Ave. The guest speaker will be the Rev. William Johnson, accompanied by the Mass Choir and congregation of Greater Peace of Zion Baptist Church of Lynchburg.

\ THE MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF JERUSALEM BAPTIST CHURCH is having its 72nd anniversary celebration March 21 at 6 p.m. at the church, 1014 Norfolk Ave. S.W. The Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Dwight Steele Sr., pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church, who will appear in concert.

\ DARRELL SHIRES, contemporary Christian pop artist, will be singing at Parkway Wesleyan Church on March 28 during services at 9:25 and 10:45 a.m., and in concert at 6 p.m. The church is at 3230 King St. N.E. For more information call 342-3968.

\ WINDSOR HILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will present its Third Sunday Music Program on March 21 at 10:45 a.m. The Concert Choir of Emory & Henry College, under the direction of Dr. Charles R. Davis, will sing.

The choir also will perform as a prelude to the worship service.

The choir has performed with the Virginia Symphony; the Kingsport, Tenn., Symphony; and the Johnson City, Tenn., Symphony and has appeared on radio and television. It also has recorded the Hymn-of-the-Month series for nationwide distribution by the United Methodist Church.

\ HUNTINGTON COURT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3333 Williamson Road, will hold Lenten luncheons on March 24, March 31 and April 7 in the church social hall at noon. There is no charge, but voluntary contributions will be accepted and donated to a local agency that feeds the hungry.

\ DR. FLAVY B. BROWN and the REV. RICARDO RODRIGUEZ of the Vinton Wesleyan Church have completed a two-week missions assignment in Haiti. They were preaching, teaching and counseling primarily in the area of Port-au-Prince, Cap Hatien and Port Margot, ministering to 29 congregations.

This was Brown's third trip to the area.

\ BETHLEHEM BIBLE COLLEGE is having a Founder's Day and Pre-Easter Service on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 2910 Cove Road N.W. Several ministers will discuss the miracles and parables of Jesus, and music will be presented by various choirs.

\ THE ROANOKE DAY CHAPTER OF WOMEN'S AGLOW FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL will meet Wednesday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Woodmen of the World, 2306 Peters Creek Road.

Guest speakers will be Dr. Charles and Eloise Pierce of Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Breakfast will be served at a donation of $2 per person. A nursery will be provided.

\ FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 344 Church Ave. S.W., will host a concert by "The Voices of Deliverance" on Sunday, March 21, at 4 p.m.

Under the direction of Kathy O'Keefe, the group will perform sacred, gospel, spiritual and contemporary music.

The concert is free.
