IN REFERENCE to a caption in the Feb. 27 Extra section, page 6:

For historical correctness, Humphrey Bogart and others did not play out their parts in "Casablanca" on a Warner Bros. set in Hollywood, but on a set some 100 miles east of Hollywood on the shore of the Salton Sea.

I remember visiting this empty, eerie set in March 1944. As a non-swimmer, I enjoyed the Salton Sea immensely: I couldn't or wouldn't sink.
